Non so voi, ma questa poi non l'avevo mai sentita: in questo recital Sutherland-Horne-Pavarotti, al minuto 3.50 attaccano il terzetto finale dell'Ernani di Verdi con... la Horne nella parte del vecchio Silva... Ma perché????!!!!!

Azzardo: si tratta di una raffinata citazione di Bonynge. Nel 1847, alla prima londinese dell'Ernani, dopo che sia Ronconi che Tamburini avevano rifiutato la parte (e mi piacerebbe sapere perché), Carlo fu cantato en travesti dalla grande Marietta Alboni (per inciso: all'inizio del progetto-Ernani, la Fenice aveva chiesto a Verdi di scrivere per contralto la parte del protagonista. E del resto anche nell'abortito Ernani di Romani-Bellini il protagonista era en travesti...).
Però l'Alboni cantò Carlo, non Silva, quindi non capisco perché farle cantare il terzetto finale invece che quello del primo atto. Mah...
Comunque questa spiegazione è probabilmente inutile: non posso nemmeno immaginare che ci sia qualcosa che Beck NON sappia : Nar :

No, in realtà non ci trovo nessuna spiegazione logica, se non che la Horne canta la parte di Silva assai meglio di molti bassi che l'hanno affrontata... Peccato solo che non abbia ripreso la parte qualche decennio dopo, quando anche vocalmente in certi gravi poteva dare dei punti a Ghiaurov...
